Michael Byers

Seattle native Michael Byers is an award-winning author of fiction and non-fiction. A Stegner Fellow at Stanford, he received the Sue Kaufman Prize from the American Academy of Arts and Letters and was a PEN/Hemingway finalist. Former director of the University of Michigan’s MFA program, he is also the creator of the podcast series Mary from Michigan Saves the World, produced by the Empire Podcasting System.
